NRG Services were engaged by the FKG Group to improve the Electrical and Mechanical Infrastructure at the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries facilities in Toowoomba.
Due to the age of both facilities and the latent conditions, the electrical portion of works significantly increased from the original scope, and included:
- Re-wiring of both buildings and replacement of electrical distribution switchboards
- Re-wiring of and upgrade of fire detection systems
- Upgrade of site electrical, communications and dry fire infrastructure
- Supply and installation of new area sub-main electrical switchboards
- Rectification of site main switchboard
- Rectification of earthing systems
- Disconnections and reconnections for asbestos removal works
The mechanical components of the project included the installation of:
- Packaged air-conditioning units
- High wall split system air-conditioning units
- Ceiling cassette air-conditioning units
- Multi-head condenser units
- Ventilation fans
- Economy air
- Electronic VAV (Variable Air Volume) diffusers by Fantech
- BMS (Building Management System) by Innotech, managing the ‘B Block’ air-conditioning plant
- Air-conditioning control switchboards
