Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) engaged NRG Services to install and commission 31 steel column street lights and associated conduits, pits and cable, as part of a road upgrade project at Charlton. The NRG Services’ team carried out all tasks related to the project including trenching, conduit and pit install, light footing install, cabling, streetlight install and network connection and final commissioning.
A section of the project excavation had to take place in proximity to high pressure gas services and vacuum excavation methods were used to mitigate the risk of a gas line strike. The project was carried out in accordance with Ergon Energy’s lighting design and TRC’s design standards.
The NRG Services’ team worked closely with TRC staff to ensure all delivery deadlines of the project were met. During the construction phase the finished road levels needed to be altered which resulted in our team modifying some of the light footings to accommodate the changes. These modifications were developed in close consultation with the client and resulted in a cost savings, with an easy to implement solution.
