NRG Services delivered the electrical and mechanical packages of work related to the upgrade of the Operating Theatre Number 7 at Toowoomba Base Hospital.
The team was required to work without interrupting any of the adjacent theatres that remained operational during the upgrade. This meant clear and concise communications between all parties were critical to ensure we met the hospital’s requirements.
The electrical scope of works included the installation and commissioning of the following services:
• Provision of new and alteration to existing switchboards
• Supply, installation and commissioning of UPS unit
• Nurse call system upgrade
• Fire Detection system upgrade
• General light and power systems
• Cable support systems
• Emergency evacuation lighting
• Security system Alterations and additions
• Body and cardiac protection systems
• Medical services panels
• Telecommunication cabling systems
The Mechanical scope of works included the installation and commissioning of the following:
• Air handling Units
• HEPA filter modules
• Split system air conditioners
• Refrigerant, chiller water and heating pipework
• Ventilation fans
• Smoke supply fans
• Variable speed drives
• Modification to the mechanical services switchboard
• De-commissioning of the existing humidifiers
• Fire dampers
• Ductwork, Grilles and Diffusers
• Air extraction system
