NRG Services were engaged by the FKG Group to carry out the electrical and mechanical works associated with the construction of the new Renal Dialysis and Training Facility Building at the Toowoomba Base Hospital.
Electrical works included additions to the existing sites main switchboard and distribution switchboards as well as earthing, underground services locating, cabling and cable support systems.
Additionally, the electrical team carried out the installation of general and specific power systems, body / cardiac protected areas, luminaires, lighting control systems, emergency evacuation lighting, telecommunications cabling system, nurse call, security and fire detection.
Mechanical works included the supply and installation of a stand-alone split system unit to the data and communications room with control card and sensors installed for monitoring back at the Toowoomba Base Hospitals BMS (Building Management System).
A variable refrigerant volume system connecting multiple ceiling cassettes, ducted fan coil units and energy recovery ventilators were also installed via BacNet to the Hospital BMS for control and monitoring, as well as ventilation and air extraction fans, ductwork grilles and diffusers.
The Project was another example of NRG’s ability to deliver a combined Electrical and Mechanical Package within an accelerated programme within the Health sector.
