NRG Services were engaged to carry out the supply, install and commission of the mechanical services in the new Agricultural Science and Environment Precinct at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) Toowoomba Campus.
The precinct includes dirty laboratories which feature direct access to glasshouses and controlled environment rooms (including cold storage and dehumidified cold storage rooms for agricultural research and testing), physical containment level 2 (PC2) research laboratory’s, glasshouses, staff offices, teaching rooms and conference rooms.
The scope of works comprised of cold storage and dehumidified cold storage rooms; day/night climate environment rooms, which each included +/- 1.5degc and +/- 5%RH tolerances; dust extraction systems; PC2 specified ventilation and pressurised zones; general exhaust air systems; fresh air systems; mechanical works; electrical works; and building management systems for the entire precinct.
Since the completion of this project, NRG Services have been engaged by USQ to carry out further mechanical installation projects and hold good relationships with USQ staff and management.
